Do I need to be a good golfer?
Nope. No handicap, no experience required. It's three shots at full iron distance on a simulator. Beginners enter. Beginners win. Show up.
Does playing Thursday hurt my chances?
Not at all. Your single best shot from any night counts toward the Top 12 — there are no per-day quotas. Playing earlier just gives you more chances to post a number that holds up through Saturday's lockdown.
Can I buy more entries if I don't like my shot?
Yes — up until closing each qualifying night. Check the live leaderboard anytime, decide if you want to improve, and keep going. Each $10 entry is three shots — buy as many entries as you like.
Are daily prizes part of qualifying for the finals?
No — they're completely separate. $80 in sim prizes ($40/$20/$20) are given away every night to the best shots of that night. They have nothing to do with the Top 12 finals cut. You compete for both every night, and one never affects the other. Sim credit expires December 31, 2026.
Are the conditions the same for every player?
Yes. Simulator, hole, pin position, and conditions are locked at 4 PM each day and are identical for every player, every entry, all three nights. The leaderboard is live all night, every night. The Top 12 lock at Saturday's 8 PM lockdown.
What happens if I make the Top 12?
If you're in the Top 12 when Saturday's board locks at 8 PM, you're a finalist. Finals begin at 8:30 PM that same night — right after lockdown, so stick around. Any finalist not present at 8:30 forfeits their spot to the next player on the leaderboard.
What if there's a simulator issue during my shot?
If a technical malfunction is observed by staff, the simulator will be restored to contest settings and you'll receive a re-shot. The Nine staff has full and final authority over all contest decisions — including malfunctions, disputes, and leaderboard records. All decisions are final.
Can I come watch the finals?
Absolutely. The finals are free and open to everyone, starting at 8:30 PM Saturday right after the board locks. No ticket, no entry. Grab a drink and watch the field get cut down to one.
Official Rules

The Fine Print,
Plain English.

  • One finals spot per player. Regardless of entries purchased, each player may advance to the finals once. Additional leaderboard positions roll to the next unique player.
  • Max 2 qualifiers per group, at The Nine's sole discretion.
  • Ties broken by timestamp. Earliest-entered shot wins the tiebreaker.
  • Phone number required at entry. Used for qualifier notification only.
  • Leaderboard is live all night. Every qualifying night — no hidden window.
  • Last entry accepted until closing each qualifying night.
  • Top 12 locked at Saturday's 8 PM lockdown. Finals begin at 8:30 PM the same night. Finalists must be present at 8:30 PM or their spot is forfeited to the next player on the leaderboard.
  • Distances are as displayed by the Full Swing simulator. Staff screenshot is the official record.
  • Sim credit prizes expire December 31, 2026.
  • The Nine staff has full and final authority over all contest decisions — including malfunctions, disputes, eligibility, and leaderboard records. All decisions are final and may not be appealed or contested. By purchasing an entry, players agree to these terms.
